The preacher preaches it. The authors scream it. The Bible whispers it. Live a life “worthy of your calling.” What is it, this calling? The lack of it feels a whole lot like
chasing. I forget He answers it in the
same few sentences He asks. “Serve Him,”
He says in two simple eloquent words. We are to serve God, “united in the
Spirit and bound together in peace.”
United…as in United States? I fear this beloved country is a pitiful
example of unity. United in Spirit,
therein lies the answer. We stand with
Divinity. Let’s stop trying to do it on
our own and let’s listen for how He wants it done.
Let’s move as a united church, in fellowship
with the Father, loving Jesus and loving others. We don’t have to agree to love. We don’t have to crush to stand up. We don’t have to cast stones to cast
nets. We can hold firm, hold hands, and
build pathways of peace.
“Be
humble, be gentle, be patient with one other, make allowance for each others
faults, because of your love.” Ephesians
4:2
