Somewhere we got the message that we
are supposed to be all things to all people. I am not sure if this is a woman
thing or a human thing, but it is a thing.
A bad thing. Being all things means so much less than God planned. Being all means leaving no room for Him.
The arms flail in the race. The hands busy, never stopping. We forget the arms are built to raise. They were given to surrender, and to clasp
something greater. We forge on so
focused, we lose vision. We lose vision that we need saving. We lose vision that we need hope and grace
and guidance.
Looking for God, admitting we need
Him is the greatest act of bravery.
Weakness becomes strength. Lonely
becomes loved. Transparency refracts light. We attract those looking for Him, when they
can see Him in us. Let’s stop being all
and let’s let Him be everything.
Therefore, since
we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every
weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
