I tell my children almost daily, they
choose their attitude… to choose
well. It turns out we choose a lot of
things. We choose our reaction. We choose to love when all that has welled up
in us is frustration or unforgiveness.
It could be a certain expression that
is shot across the room or the email into which we read way too much. That action that somehow seems orchestrated
solely to offend. What will we choose?
If we choose to assume good, it is
more than effort or attitude but it is a glimpse of Jesus. Hard yes, worth it? A million times yes. There is good for the single reason God is
good and He has hidden goodness in every single soul.
Let all
bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you,
along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving
one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Ephesians 4:31-32
