focus

“Pray to win.”  I read those words and they stuck. An obvious play on words, the author indicated that we should pray as if we “cannot see the score board.”
Pre pandemic,  pre isolation, pre present unknown, unsure and uncertain.  Pray like you don’t know the outcome. Not me I am a results driven person.  I don’t’ play or pray well when I cannot see tomorrow.
But today, I cannot see the results of supplication or seclusion.
Sight is the product of focus. So what is it we can focus on? We can focus on a good God. We can focus on a God that sees. He sees the suffering.  And He is well acquainted with pain He sends His Spirit to stand against our fear and charters Him to carry our burdens. He promises His presence.
Perhaps it is the prayer itself that is the prize. The replacing of the result with the Receiver. We unleash Him to do the amazing.
We resign from results and we focus on the Redeemer.
