sweet

My daughter craves sweets. When I met her, she had a sweet roll wadded up in her little two-year old hand as if it were her very last taste of home.

I get it. We savor sweet. I love sweet tea, sweet people, sweet moments. It is the inverse of life.
  • We would not know sweet if we did not taste bitter.
  • We would not crave time if it did not race wild.
  • We would not value life had we not seen death.
  • We would not endure pain were it not for hope.
  • We would not understand evil were it not for good.
  • We glorify Him because we cannot help but see Him in the design of people and sunrises, flowers and forgiveness.

He draws us with the sweet to shield us in the suffering. He allows the sorrow to show us salvation. He reaches in to remind us righteousness exists and it is ours through Him.
