I want to understand this big picture. You know the one. The left and the right, the black and the
white, the wrong and the seemingly less wrong.
I want to form an opinion or at least toss a word into the whirlpool of
opinion.
Don’t we all?
Don’t we all wish we had wisdom that
quiets the roar?
Saying something is the temptation,
changing something is the aim, healing something is the goal.
In a thirst for absolutes, many
things simply fall in the abstract. God
is all good. Satan is all evil, most everything
else falls somewhere in between. This is
where we live, in between heaven and hell.
Paradise and perishing. Thus, we
must be vigilant with the lens through we choose to look through.
We can choose the lens of popularity
or we can choose the lens of scripture.
We can listen to opinion or we can listen to the Spirit of God.
We can dig through history, or we dig
holes and hide.
No matter our lens, we must seek
before we find and pray before we preach.
We feel the pressure, the pressure to know and understand without study
and meditation.
The answers come in keeping doors
open, conversations going, hands outstretched and prayers uplifted.
