30 - Day 17

There are hallelujahs everywhere.
It is the sight that lacks or perhaps the hearing.
I am convinced ministry is far more silent than I have ever given it credit for.

I sat and listened to the rumble behind me. A cold wet night, folks anxious to get to connecting flights and like me, home to family.  But then everything stops and those same anxious folks realize a darling elderly couple needs help getting up, and needs assistance with their bags and their sweaters.  And those same anxious people forfeit four or five minutes to be someone’s halleluiah.

Sacrificing the urgent for the eternal.   Being someone’s halleluiah.  This is it.  This is how we do life when we get God's vision in our eyes.

Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?
