“I would maintain that thanks are the highest
form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.”
G.K.
Chesterton
We hear it almost every day. Words penned 300 years ago by Jefferson and
2000 years by Socrates are now abused.
Abused to explain lack of patriotism and abused to define rudeness and
bullying.
How do we funnel freedom?
The best and most holy
freedom we can feel is the freedom to speak to our Creator.
Whether I write my prayers or scream
them, I have the listening ear of my Father.
I am grateful.
I need to speak to Him more.
I need to tell Him things before I
whisper, before I judge or most certainly before I complain.
He created freedom.
It is a supreme and supernatural gift.
We can go nowhere outside the reach
of His hearing and we can experience nothing beyond the embrace of His hands.
Now
the Lord is the
Spirit, and where the
Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians
3:17
